Welcome!
I have been creating beautiful, functional, and high-quality leather goods since 1993, and have since then worked hard to establish a reputation as a skilled, inovative and creative leatherworker, author, and trainer.
I am passionate about sharing my knowledge, love for the craft and experience with others and my aim has been to share the art of leatherworking through my images, videos, workshops and classes and most recently my book. Whether you’re a journeyman or established professional, or a beginner just starting out, I hope I can help you with the skills you need to create stunning leather pieces that you can be proud of, either as a fun and useful hobby or as the basis for a business or career in leatherwork.

The Making of an ATTACHÉ
A traditional cedar framed Attaché is a fusion of crafts and in this short film we explore the heritage craft skills of the leatherworker, cabinet maker and metalworkers required to make one.
A truly 'Made in England' product, the film is shot on location in Westholme, County Durham and Walsall, the heart of the Black Country. Westholme is a 17th century hamlet in the North East of England. Walsall was formerly England's industrial heartland whose output powered an Empire but where now the foundry making the brass work is the last remaining in the UK.
Watch as the craftsmanship we so carefully at saddlestitch.co.uk nurture brings the wood, leather and brass together in to a finished product. The Attaché is designed not to fulfil the current obsession with FAST i.e fast fashion, fast manufacturing and short product life. It is made to last, made to build a relationship over a lifetime of use with its owner, made by hand, made with passion and craftsmanship, not with a machine.
Shot entirely on 16mm film, the organic and analogue nature of the medium reflects the textures, feel and personality of our workshops, where the natural beauty of leather and linen thread needs no digital enhancement. In an environment where many of the tools are older than those operating them and where the beauty of a product is determined solely by the skill of the hands of the maker the beauty of natural light captured on a film emulsion is a natural extension of our creative process.

Charlie, why did you stop leather crafting?
Mr Sylar?
It's a choice: A collection cheap crappy trinkets mass produced or essential well crafted possessions you can hand down.
I absolutely loved this.
My belt video I made from cowhide ua-cam.com/video/qlmRwf2Njdo/v-deo.html
He has shown my point .. saddle stitching always looks better & it’s a craft!! Thx you
Beautiful and inspiring.
Been watching your videos for years. Please make new ones.
When in my leather working shop, I'm seriously thinking of playing more Italian music while keeping my eyes honed tightly in on my project piece. Perhaps by doing this I could transition from a leather worker to an artisan of fine leather. Rather than make leather goods, I could produce exquisite works of art and charge exorbitant prices to exclusive collectors of fine art. People do things different ways. People have different skills for different types of styles. This man has developed extraordinary skill in the work he does on this style of leatherwork. Just reminds me of how attentive one should be to details in order to produce quality items. Thanks for sharing.
Мне нравится, но мои ремни лучше и красивее, и это не шутка, это правда!!! Могу скинуть фото, делаю на заказ, шью куртки для байкеров, вообще всё из кожи...

That is an absolutely beautiful attache. How can I purchase one and are they only custom order leatherworks?
Beautiful work and very nice, will look at your web site.
Watched this video a bunch of times and attempted to make it for my husband. While my stitches were wonky in the back, the front looks perfect. It was not raised as much as I would wish but the end result is beautiful with top grain leather front and back. It’s to the point where my husband’s coworkers have taken notice and admired his belt. I hope this can last his lifetime.
I ♥ the music! What's the title of it & the composer? Thanks, in advance! :)
On an Omega Speedmaster Reduced. Nice strap for a nice watch.
Wonderful! An artist!
I loved everything about this video. The music was absolutely perfect for it. ❤️

Spock makes wallets now?
Amazing sound and video . What kind a microphone do you use for this ?
A cow was raised And now it's a belt.
Артист!!!!!!!!
What is the purpose of brushing the leather before he began working with it? Is it just to clean off any dirt or does it do something I’m not seeing?
Ремень хорош, но похоронная музыка портит общее впечатление.
The music and the art both masterpieces
What kind of adhesive brush is that?
Top!

What size linen thread do you use and at what SPI?
I was wondering how do you stitch along the whole belt, i see that you had pretty short thread lenght when you started, so i guess you rethread after it runs out, but how do you finnish in the middle of the belt and start again? Do you backstitch where you are running out of it and then start again with backstitching or how is it done?
